Influence sans manipulation

Andi Roberts had a nice article on how to influence people without being manipulative.
There are 5 different types of influence methods:
- Rationalization (logic)
- Assertion (authority)
- Negotiating (middle ground)
- Inspiring (vision)
- Bridging (relationship)
Overuse has the opposite effect.
Most importantly, we should humbly pick the method that resonates with the other party over our modus operandum.
